A calmer subscription renewal review.

A recurring charge is easier to evaluate when you can see the price, the next decision date, and what you actually use.

1. Make a complete list

Use the name on your statement, not just the name you remember. Include annual memberships and free trials that may renew. The Monthly Bill Audit can keep the list in your browser.

2. Check the terms and renewal date

Look at the provider’s current account page or agreement. Confirm the renewal price, billing frequency, and cancellation or pause steps. The FTC offers consumer guidance on free trials and auto-renewals.

3. Choose a status

Mark the item Keep, Review, or Cancel / replace in your own list. “Review” is a prompt to investigate—not a recommendation to cancel a service you need.

4. Put the next review on your calendar

If you keep it, record when you want to revisit the value. A seasonal review is often enough for stable services; annual renewals deserve a closer look before the charge lands.
